About

Yeji Kim is South Korean choreographer and dance artist known for her powerful, physical work that explores what it means to be human. Her work is instinctive, emotional and full of feeling, often connecting audiences with meaning beyond words. She is passionate about human stories, the human condition, and creating dance with emotions and authenticity at its heart.

Her journey began with formal training at the Korea National University of Arts before completing a post graduate diploma at London Contemporary Dance School.

Since 2009, Yeji was a member of Hofesh Shechter Company for over 16 years, during which she intensely developed her craft as a dance artist. She participated in every major production with Hofesh, helping to shape her profound physicality, artistry and commitment to dance. Her dedication led her to become a workshop leader and rehearsal assistant for HSC, as well as a certified Pilates instructor. These experiences have significantly informed her own creative practice.

As a choreographer Yeji has been commissioned to create work for Korea National University of Arts, Rambert School, and The Greater Bay Area Dance Festival. She has also created dance films including ‘Solo’, ‘Whispers of Time’, and ‘Hide and Seek’. Currently she is developing her new work ‘ARRIVAL’ which will premiere in autumn 2025, and is working as a choreographer on a new production with Fengling Productions & New Earth Theatre.

Yeji continues to inspire people around the world, teaching independent workshops across Europe, China and South Korea. In addition to developing her choreographic work, she mentors young dancers, supporting the next generation of artists, and continues to work with Hofesh on re-staging and educational projects.
